About my poem

I picked this poem because it reminded me of my dad and all of the other fathers out there. I like this poem because it is not to short and it is not to long it keeps my mind running after i read this poem because well i dont know how but it just works like that for me. If other people were to read this I think that they would under stand what i am saying.

This poem really inspires me because it also dosent just remind me of my father and other fathers it reminds me of my grandfathers best friend. His best friend was only 21 years old and he died in the vietnam war. Till this day my dad is wereing my grandfathers best friend war braclet because my dad is in the military.

Fire and Ice

This poem is great about me because i have like to make fire and play around with them. "from those who favor fire". This poem means that some people hate and some people crush the people that they hate. That is what this poem mean to me.

This poem relates to me because I really like to play with fire. Even if it means hurting me. It is like i never learn my lesson it has been fun to me since i first have seen fire and touched it. It says "I think I know enough of hate" i know enough but I learn from what i do not how I hear it.

The Movie

The part that I imagined was the fight where Bob Ewell tries to kill Jem and and Scout. The part I really liked about that was it is almost exactly what happened. I thought that Boo Radley was going to show up like nothing but he didn't. He just showed up like and got Bob Ewell. He also took Jem to the house.

That part was really amazing to me. I really liked that part and it was very fun to read. I had a lot of fun reading the book it has amazed me a lot and can't wait to read some more. I really hope that we get to read some more books like To Kill A Mockingbird.

Atticus as a father Part 2

Atticus has been a good father but there are some things that he does need to work on. Like on knowing where his kids are. Keeping in control of his family and all of those kinds of things. Atticus has to work on those things. He has been good at helping Jem and Scout with reading.

Jem loves to know what his dad is doing at all times. Thats a good thing but Atticus need to know when to lay down the law and take care of his childeren. He has a good paying job and feed the family but he need to do more. Like be home more often and spend more time with them. All of these things he need to work on but the things he does not have to work on is loving his family and being loved by his family.

Life Change

This book has changed my life because when Tom died it reminded me of my great grandfather. When Boo Radley saved Jem and Scout that reminded me of the poem that i gave out. This book really has given me a different mind about life. When i stated reading the book i thought it was going to be boring. But now that i went all the way throught it i think now i really did enjoy the book.


I have always liked reading but when it came to this book i was so into it after about the 3rd chapter and man did i just want to read more and more. I loved reading this book and it was very interesting what had happened in it. This really showed me that life is more than just a beggining, middle, and end. Life is a period of time where you get to do what you can and make good of it. And i plan on making the rest of mine great just from that book.

life lesson

Scout is learning how to become a lady. She is learning from Aunt Alexandra, she nows how to hold a try with some things on it. She nows how to dress like one. And the last thing is that she nows how to talk like one.

Jem he is learning from alot of people around him. Atticuse is helping him by letting them stay for the trial. Jem is also a teacher he taught Dill how to swim. Jem has been learning about racism and all kinds of different thinks about the court. "Jem had taght him to swim"(239)

Extra Credit

The best thing that i like about English is that we get to do alot of fun things. We get to work together and read together. But my most favorite thing about English is that we are doing a script . I think alot of people like that and to me that is very fun.

Alot of people are having fun . But the first week i was there i was scared but i flew right past that and then all the fun things happened. I like to be in groups and help other people. So to me there is nothing that i dont like.

Theme- Family

The family of the Finches are very good people. Scout, Atticus, Jem, Aunt Alexandra, and Calpurnia (Cal). Scout is a tough little girl and doesn't want to dress like a girl. but she beats up like a guy "I beat him up one time but he was really nice about it".154
Jem is growing up and is trying to be more mature it says "He went out the room and down the hall. Atticus his voice was distant can you come up here for a minute".141
Atticus he is a louyer and is defending a black guy (Tom Robinson) for being accused of raping one of the Ewell's daughters.
Aunt Alexandra she left her other home to help the Finches and help Scout and Jem understand about the life story about the Finch histroy.
Calpurnia (Cal) she is the nanny. She is black but she is not a slave she just helps and she does get paid.
Dill now he is a part of the family for now he ran away from home because he thinks his parents hate him "bound in chains and left die in the basement by his new father"140

Father

I think that Atticas is a great father ather that him having to leave in the book it says " Bessides, Cal, this isn't the first time Atticus has left us". So I think that Atticus needs to get a little better at spending time with his family. He needs to play more and tell them more stories. But at least he helps them by teaching them a little with school.(117)

I also think that he should have a little more rules in the house because he said "shoot all the bluejays you want". That is the thing that i think he needs to work on that. He lets them shoot a gun like that when they are that little. But he does make alot of money for the family. (90)

Racism and Stereotyping

Scout says allot of racism things in chapter 1 because of the things she hears. She hears it from allot of things. Like when she hears stories from her teacher or her dad. And even maybe she has heard it from Cal the cook (not a slave).

When dill came over the second time he told them some things that happened where he was living. Some of the stories that he told them were and or had some racism thing and word in them. So those came onto Scout and she had gotten a hold of those words and kept them in her head. And then that is how she thought races words were okay to use.

Change

Boo Radley i think has changed because of what Scout had heared. Mr. Radley was very nice when he was a kid and then he was abused. He was locked up in his basement for 15 years. So that changed him. He stabed his dad.

He changed because he liked to go out. He liked to hang out with other people. But because he was locked up I don't think he was fed allot at all. It is like he went so hungry one night he decided that he was going to be like his father. So he wanted to kill his father and he stabbed him with a pare of scissors and a little later he died. So what i think he was doing is that when his father died he was going to try and leave of go out of the house.

First impression

My impression of Boo Radley is that he is a very bad person. On page 11 paragraph 2 it says that Boo drove a pair of scissors into his fathers leg. that give me the idea that he wanted to kill his dad because his dad locked him in his house for 15 years. In the book it also stated that Boo did alot of other bad think.

Because of the things Boo did I also think that he was raised that way because his parents were the same way. His family rose him like that so that gives me another impression that deep down he is a nice guy. But all the rumors that went around were bad and that makes me think that he is bad and will stay bad. I thiunk he will stay bad because at the end of Chapter 1 it says that his dad died and his older brother took over the house and nothing changed. So that makes me think that he was born and rose bad.

the best thing about english

My favorite thing about English so far is that we can read and then write about it on this. I like to write and type things and make stories. I t is really fun to be in Mrs.Gilmans English class because she makes everything so fun even if we have only had her for a week.
